composition-16th December (40 mins)

I cut up my samples and layered them over each other to give an echo effect then put effects on them.

6th December-composition

I finished the structure of the piece by repeating the intro section at the end, then I started finding some more samples and cutting them up.

25th November-Seal

I put in all of the bass line for the first verse and corrected all of the mistakes that I made last time then I started changing effects on a guitar sound to make it sound better

18th November-Composition

I input some pads for the middle section of my piece then I got a piano and put a slow delay on it so I could layer it.

15th November-Seal

I input the piano for the verse and the bassline for the intro and the first verse, then put effects on to make it sound more like the original.

11th November- composition

I rearranged the beginning so it was shorter because it was too long and I started doing the next bit.

4th November-Seal

I started the whole piece again because I was doing the wrong song.

I finished all of the drums and used EQ and a filter to make it sound more like the original.

Then I started on the horns and did the first bit.

Next lesson I need to sort out the sounds for the horns and input the rest, then start on the bassline.

composition 2nd November

I started of by inputting the drums and violin for the next section of my piece.

Then I used automation to make it pan left to right.

1st November-Economy of Truth

I carried on my piece by adding more samples to the introduction and layering them with the others

I started on the next section of my piece by downloading the audio for an episode of question time, cutting the intro music for the programme out and saving it as a WAV. file then putting it back into the sampler and playing it.

21st October-SEAL

I used the screenshots that I took yesterday to put my drums in using the Ultra beat

I worked out all of the different sections and copied and pasted them to make the drum track for the whole song.

Next lesson I need to sort out the sounds and make them sound like the song, then start inputting the trumpets.

Knock on wood 19th October

I worked out the drums for the intro and verse.

Next time I will start by inputting he drums again from my screenshots and then start on the rest of the drums and the horns.

18th October

I started my piece with 2 long held notes on MK 2 bright piano with EQ, compressor, space design, filter and delay. I cut up samples and put them over the top, then I saved one small section of my samples as a WAV. file and loaded it back into the EXS24 and played it at different pitches.
